At five weeks the puppies have learned to come when called. Each time we visit the pups, in their nursery,
we call "Pup-Pup-Pup" and all the puppies come running to greet us. When they go to their new homes, their new owners
will just add the puppy's individual name to the call and the puppy will come. Once the puppy recognizes its new name the
"Pup-Pup-Pup can be dropped. (Dogs we have bred, that return for boarding, will still come to me when I call Pup-Pup-Pup.)
During the day, all the puppies go outside to potty. Because of predators, we have to shut the puppies in at dusk
and let them out at about seven am.so we still have a few accidents during the night and on other occasions.
At six week the puppies have been wormed twice and have received their first shots. They never made even the smallest
squeak! Due to their irrisistable urge to swim in their milk or sleep in their food, they have now been bathed five
times, so they are very used to the routine. They have been all had their faces, feet and bases of their tails clipped. Each
puppy has had a manicure of all eighteen claws. That includes their two dew claws. The puppies use these like thumbs to grip
toys or chews.
We have finally been able to determine that the puppies are all going to be
very light blues.
We still have two beautiful boys available to perfect forever homes.
