At two weeks the puppies eyes are open and they are showing interest in the world they live in.The puppies are nibbling
on each others ears and showing the beginning signs of play. With only five puppies, Lola has lots of milk and the puppies
are very fat. One of the puppies is significantly smaller than the others. He is not a runt. The red color, in standard poodles,
was obtained by breeding to a red miniature. The small puppy is an example of this history. He does not allow his bigger siblings
to push him around. He moves faster than the other puppies and is always the first puppy to reach Lola's milk bar. When sucking
he is very noisy. He will not be as small as a miniature but will be a small standard, like those bred in Europe and called
Klein or caniche poodles.
