Island, through the tree shaded fields, down a beach
area to Cottonwood Creek. There the poodles showed themselves as the water dogs they were originally bred to be. Sticks substituted
for water fowl. A great time seemed to be had by all! Returning to the residence, the dogs dried in the sun while their
owners ate lunch. Buckets of dog food was available for visitors but most of the dogs were ready for a nap.
After lunch it was time for the
egg hunt. Hidden inside plastic eggs were meatballs and the poodles soon got into the game. Back to the house, it was time
for the poodle owners to enjoy strawberry margaritas and kindly donated excellent homemade wine before competing in the fun
classes for dog that looked most like it's owner, dog with the waggiest tail and dogs that learned to jump through hula hoops.
After an evening bbq the poodles and their owners relaxed and socialized. The next
morning, after breakfast, we congregated in Redding by the Sundial Bridge. After a group photo session, and answering lots
of questions by other bridge visitors, we crossed the bridge and explored the river trails. We returned to the bridge
and lunched outside a delicatessent before exchanging hugs with poodles and their owner and ending the party. We would like
to thank all the participants. for coming,
for their help in making the event even more successful than we
ever thought possible. So many poodles, off leash and having fun with not a growl between. them. The owners were good
to!
